The Rottweiler, also known as Rottweiler or Rottweil Metzgerhund, originated in Germany and is classified in the Working Group by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Historically, these dogs were used for various tasks such as pulling carts, fighting, and guarding. During World War I, Rottweilers were extensively employed as military dogs and later, in the mid-20th century, they were gradually trained for police work. Today, Rottweilers are among the most popular police and military dogs worldwide, and when trained, they make excellent family guard dogs.
